Patrick Bamford’s late equalizer rescued Leeds a point in a 1-1 draw at Burnley to leave both sides chasing their first Premier League win of the season

Shut out during loss
Wood took one shot (on target) and drew one foul during Sunday's 2-0 loss to Liverpool.
Impact
Wood failed to score for the second straight game as Burnley were beaten by a goal from Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane. Wood is typically Burnley's best source of goals, but he's failed to get going to begin the season. His next chance to score will come against Leeds United on Sunday, a side who have conceded seven goals in their first two matches.

Set for opener
Wood "is fine and ready and raring to go" for Saturday's opener against Brighton, according to manager Sean Dyche.
Impact
Wood took part in last weekend's friendly against Cadiz following his involvement in the Olympics. It's a quick turnaround, but since he was already fit and playing matches, he's ready for the new season after totaling double-digit goals each of the last four campaigns.

Goes out quiet in 1-0 loss
Wood created one chance and made two clearances in the 1-0 shootout loss to Japan on Saturday.
Impact
Wood was anything but good in the loss. The forward did not produce much if any offense and it came as a surprise. The experienced forward has led the line throughout the tournament and he had two goals in his first two games, but he lost form every game after. Wood will hope to regain form heading into another season of the Premier League.

Posts first game without a goal
Wood took two shots (one on target) in the 0-0 draw against Romania on Wednesday.
Impact
Wood is one of the most notable attacking threats in the Olympics and he has proven it time and time again with two goals in three starts. The only issue (like his club play) is he does not provide much production outside of his shot volume. Wood has never been a chance creator and he typically is the final recipient before a shot is taken. Unless Wood sees an uptick in shot volume, he is nothing more than a boom-or-bust option.

Scores again
Wood scored once during Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Honduras.
Impact
Wood netted his second in two games in the Olympics, but wasn't able to take down Honduras. The forward is in excellent form and one of the most stable attacking threats in the Olympics. He will lead the line in the final game of the group stage.

Scores against South Korea
Wood scored one goal during a 1-0 win Wednesday against South Korea.
Impact
New Zealand's national football team qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics, with Wood being its most high-profile player. They played their first game against a favored South Korean group but performed well. Wood's goal has given New Zealand better odds to advance into the tournament knockout stage, despite previous concerns.

Takes one shot in loss
Wood took one shot off target in Sunday's 1-0 loss versus Sheffield United.
Impact
Wood had a quiet offensive outing Sunday as he took only one shot in 90 minutes. Across the season, it was a case of a salvage job for Wood as he scored 12 times and provided three assists in 32 starts, though eight of those goals and every assist came in an eight-game stretch between March and May of 2021. Expecting consistent output from Wood isn't a good way to guarantee fantasy success, though if you can pick him up when he gets hot, he'll continue to be a difference maker along with the growing talents of Dwight McNeil.

Quiet during loss to Liverpool
Wood took three shots (one on goal), created two scoring chances and committed three fouls during Wednesday's 3-0 loss to Liverpool.
Impact
Wood played the full 90 but failed to find the back of the net against a Liverpool backline that has played well as of late. Wood remains the top attacking option for Burnley, along with Dwight McNeil, and both players are expected back in the starting XI for Sunday's finale against a Sheffield United side that offer a good opportunity for both players to have a big day.
