In addition to his assist, the central-defender led the team with seven clearances across his 90 minutes of play. Back from suspension Burn is no longer suspended and is an option moving forward for the club.
Impact Burn has served his suspension after receiving two yellow cards against Brentford and is set to return for the next contest. The defender has been an undisputed starter in the Magpies' backline this season and will likely reclaim his place in the lineup against Everton on Saturday, especially with Lewis Hall still dealing with fatigue. That situation would leave the left-back spot to Burn.

Impact Burn appeared unmarked at the far post to head home a free-kick cross from the right and open the scoring in the 11th minute. His team dominated most of the contest and the left-back wasn't that busy defensively but he still put up some decent peripheral numbers along the clean sheet. This was the first goal of the campaign for the left-back, but we shouldn't expect many more to come as he had just six across all competitions over his previous four seasons with Newcastle.

Season of much activity Burn logged 37 appearances (37 starts), one goal, one assist, 194 clearances, 27 interceptions, 26 blocks and 24 tackles won during Newcastle's 2024-25 season.
Impact Occasionally, availability and usage are the best source of value from a player, which has been the case with Burns for some time now. The center-back updated his career bests in starts, passes and clearances for a Newcastle team whose multi-way domestic success greatly relied on him. For a second straight season, Burn logged at least one goal and one assist, making it two of three years in which he has recorded multiple G/A for the Magpies.

Impact Burn was credited with the assist in Bruno Guimaraes' goal, though in reality, the defender simply passed the ball to the Brazilian, who unleashed a beautiful shot past Robert Sanchez to double Newcastle's lead. Burn isn't known for being much of an attacking contributor, and this was just his second goal contribution of the season, though both have come over his last three EPL appearances.
