Re-joins Barcelona Alves signed with FC Barcelona on Friday and will be eligible to play for the club in January. Impact Alves is able to train with his teammates over the rest of 2021 but he can't feature for the club until the next transfer window opens, even after signing as a free agent following the termination of his contract with Sao Paulo FC. For the moment, Oscar Mingueza and Sergino Dest will continue to rack up minutes on the right flank though Alves is sure to make a few appearances once he's available. There's also the expectation of a mentorship role for a talented core of young stars, so Alves isn't expected to have the same offensive impact as he once could each match.
