Impact Vanzeir scored his first MLS goal against the Crew last weekend but he's being eased into action in New York as all three of his appearances so far have come off the bench. He may be a game time decision for Saturday's game due to an illness.

Nets first MLS goal Vanzeir scored a goal with his lone shot while creating two chances during Saturday's 2-1 win over Columbus.
Impact Vanzeir entered the match in the 75th minute and scored the game winning goal in the 86th. The goal was the first of the forward's MLS career having joined the Red Bulls in January.

Not ready to start yet Vanzeir is still building up his fitness and will likely continue coming off the bench in the near future, according to Red Bulls manager Gerhard Struber on Thursday.
Impact Vanzeir was New York's marquee signing this offseason from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise, but Struber told reporters Thursday that "We work with him every day on the physical standpoint but also on the principles. We continue to see the gap in team training. I want to bring him in when he is ready to be a starter. We don't want to risk an injury." Expect to see Cory Burke and Elias Manoel remain the starting forwards for the time being, with Vanzeir slowly continuing to get more time as a substitute while he continues working on his physicality.

Quiet in club debut off bench Vanzeir subbed in and played the final 15 minutes or so of Saturday's 0-0 draw against Nashville SC.
Impact Vanzeir made his MLS debut against a strong defense in Nashville on Saturday, and he wasn't able to be the difference-maker. He is still working his way up to speed with his new team after transferring from Belgium in the offseason, but he should take over from Tom Barlow as a starter in the front-two soon enough.
