Strong debut vs LAFC Ochoa made four saves (one goal allowed), as D.C. United fell to LAFC 1-0 Tuesday. Impact Ochoa was acquired from Real Salt Lake in July, and this contest was his first MLS appearance in 2022 for either club. With regular starting keeper Bill Hamid sidelined with a hand injury, D.C. United manager Wayne Rooney turned to the third-string 21-year-old to provide a spark. He acquitted himself quite nicely, holding the MLS's highest scoring team to just one goal on a shot he had no chance stopping. It remains to be seen whether Ochoa has done enough to solidify the permanent backup role over Rafael Romo, but Tuesday was a step in the right direction.
