Leaving Burnley Pieters is departing Burnley following the end of his contract.

Impact Pieters has served as a backup the last couple seasons and now that Burnley are in the Championship, he'll look to move elsewhere. Unless another Premier League team are interested in a 33-year-old full-back, it's most likely he'll return to his home land in Netherlands.

Impact Pieters has featured in the match-day squad just once since late February, a substitute appearance versus Villa on May 7 during which he logged 18 minutes while recording one assist, three tackles (zero won) and one interception. At this point, it's hard to imagine the defender will be cleared in time suit face Newcastle United on Sunday.

Impact Tottenham assisted off the bench a week ago, but it looks like his knee issue is back and bugging him again. It's a tough break for the defender, who got a decent bit of run in February before the injury. Unless something changes, he'll finish with eight starts this season, his fewest in his three-season Burnley career.
