Seamus Coleman - Starts against Palace Coleman got the start and played 90 minutes during Thursday's scoreless draw with Crystal Palace.

Impact Coleman was back in the starting XI and back going the full 90. The defender will likely see some rotation in cup competitions while competing for Premier League starts. When fit Coleman has gone unused more often than not, though some of that is almost certainly load management for these recurring issues.

JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE

Joao Virginia - Starts in FA Cup Virginia got the start and made three saves during Thursday's 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.

Impact Virginia was handed a start and impressed mightily during Thursday's draw. He was the man of the match and will likely remain the first choice for cup competitions. Jordan Pickford is the unquestioned starter in net in the Premier League though.

Dwight McNeil - Brought off with ankle injury McNeil was brought off with an apparent injury during Thursday's clash with Crystal Palace.

Impact McNeil had an air cast applied on the pitch and was forced off in clear pain. The winger is a major loss to the first team as he has largely been the most creative part of the team. Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison could be asked to take more creative roles on the wing with McNeil seemingly set for some time on the sideline.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin - Set for three-match ban Calvert-Lewin will be suspended for three matches after being shown a straight red card during Thursday's clash with Crystal Palace.

Impact Calvert-Lewin was sent off for a tackle that was deemed dangerous during the second half. That will see him sidelined for three matches in the Premier League. With Calvert-Lewin suspended Beto should be in line for some more chances to lead the line.

JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE

Reece Welch - Loans ends early Welch has been recalled from his loan spell with the Forest Green Rovers and will re-link with Everton.

Impact Welch is still looking to make his senior debut for Everton since joining its academy in 2010. With the Rovers this campaign, the defender appeared in 17 matches, scoring twice while averaging about 68 minutes per game.

Impact Gueye won't be an option versus Aston Villa on Sunday regardless of whether he is with Senegal or dealing with his calf problem. Depending on how far Senegal makes it in the tournament, Gueye could miss anywhere from one to four PL matches, which will stretch an already thin midfield group for the Toffees.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - Late call ahead of Villa clash Doucoure (hamstring) will face a late fitness test for Sunday's matchup with Aston Villa with manager Sean Dyche telling reporters the midfielder "just about" has resumed training.

Impact Doucoure's absence has continued to hamper an Everton side that has yet to secure a victory without him on the pitch. Doucoure has started all 17 of his appearances this season in which he has racked up six goals on 28 shots (15 on target), 15 crosses (two accurate) and 22 chances created. With Idrissa Gueye a doubt as well, Andre Gomes could be pressed into the starting XI if Doucoure can't play.

Dele Alli - Suffers setback Alli (hip) suffered an injury setback with his hip injury and will be out multiple weeks, he announced via Instagram.

Impact Alli suffered a setback with his hip injury and is now set for even more time on the sideline. The midfielder will hope to be a difference-maker when he's fully fit, though it doesn't appear like there's any specific date for when that will be. The attacking midfielder will need to return to training before any sort of match return is possible.

Idrissa Gueye - Called up for Senegal Gueye was called up for Senegal for AFCON 2024, and will miss January.

Impact Gueye is off to join up with Senegal, ruling him out for at least three weeks and potentially more depending on how far the team goes. The midfielder was somewhat of an injury doubt due to a calf problem but it appears the injury isn't serious enough to avoid the call up.

Dwight McNeil - Three shots in loss McNeil had three shots off target and sent in four inaccurate crosses in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Wolves.

Impact McNeil ranked first for both shots and crosses among his teammates. The winger came close to scoring with a powerful long-range effort that came back off the post. He is without a goal in his last five, though he has two assists in that time.

With a full two weeks to recover before the club's next contest, the 34-year-old should be able to recover in time to face Villa, however, if not, he will get another two weeks of rest before the club's match against Fulham on Jan. 30, where he should almost be one hundred percent by then.
