FC Cincinnati Break MLS Transfer Record for Incoming Striker, per Report FC Cincinnati has broken the MLS transfer record to bring in a new starting striker for the 2025 season.
Matt Miazga - Plans to start work Miazga (knee) is scheduled to make a return to the grass with light work next week, reports Laurel Pfahler of the Queens City Press.
Impact Miazga underwent PCL surgery back in June, not being able to hit the grass since. Since the defender is schedule to return to the grass next week, he is on the right track to be fit for the start of the 2025 campaign, which will also be his final year his contract with Cincinnati.

Obinna Nwobodo - Played with ankle injury Nwobodo played the final matches of the season with an injured ankle and is set to undergo treatment during the offseason, per Laurel Pfahler of the Queens City Press.
Impact Nwobodo completes his third full season in Cincinnati as a starter in the midfield. He assisted once while leading the team in assists with 74, while also collecting 58 interceptions and 34 clearances. Nwobodo will use the offseason to recover from his ankle injury and aim for a return in 2025, where he has an option for an extra season if Cincinnati decides to pick that option up.

Impact Orellano had one of the best chances to get a goal for Cincinnati, however he was denied three times by Matt Freese that saw his season come to end end during penalties Saturday. He had an impressive first year in MLS since joining from Vasco da Gama on loan, making 11 goals with five assists while averaging about 2.8 shots and 4.2 crosses per game. He is set to return to his parent club until the club decides what to do for his future.

Miles Robinson - Three clearances to end year Robinson registered two tackles (one won), three clearances and two interceptions in Saturday's 0-0 (6-5) penalty shootout defeat against New York City FC.
Impact Robinson was able to make three clearances with two tackles while scoring a penalty during the shootout Saturday. Since Matt Miagza went down on season ending injury, Robinson took over as the leader in the back line, while also missing a few matches serving time at the Copa America tournament and the Olympic Games with the United States. This resulted in 28 starts in 28 appearances, scoring once while making 94 clearances, 51 tackles (36 won) and 36 clearances while making 13 blocks with five clean sheets during his first campaign with Cincinnati. The defender only signed through 2024, with a club option for 2025 if the club decides to keep him another year.

Luciano Acosta - Ends campaign scoreless Acosta recorded one shot (zero on goal), three crosses (one accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 0-0 (6-5) penalty shootout defeat versus New York City FC.
Impact Acosta had failed to score a goal in the last four matches to end the season on a scoreless drought. Nevertheless, he's been able to live up post MLS MVP winner from 2023, starting 32 times in 35 appearances, collecting 14 goals with 17 assists while averaging about 2.6 shots, 3.4 chances created and 4.8 crosses per game, continuing to make him one of the best attackers in the league. Acosta is guaranteed to return for 2025 after signing a three year contract at the end of 2023.

Roman Celentano - Beaten in shootout Celentano recorded one save and secured a clean sheet in Saturday's 0-0 (6-5) penalty shootout loss versus New York City FC.
Impact Celentano kept a clean sheet during regulation, however was just beaten during the shootout against NYCFC to end his season. He ends the 2024 year making 33 starts in 33 MLS appearances, allowing 45 goals while making 94 saves with nine clean sheets, equaling to an average of 2.8 saves per game. The keeper will return for a third season on his four year contract extension, having been with Cincinnati since 2022.
