Impact Escalante was held off the scoresheet, but did tie for the team-high with two tackles in the match. The midfielder has started back-to-back matches for the first time since February as a defensive minded option in midfield for Cadiz.

Impact Escalante managed to get the ball over the line in the 81st minute, assisted by Roger Marti. Despite making a tackle and an interception, he also committed an error that resulted in Girona's goal. This appearance came after being an unused substitute for four consecutive games.

Impact Escalante has yet to progress to group training, and recent reports have indicated he still needs "time" to get back on the grass. Considering Cadiz play Sunday against Las Palmas and then on Dec. 21 against Real Sociedad, there's a strong chance he could miss both contests, with an eye toward returning on Jan. 3 at Granada.

Impact Escalante is still waiting on a return, marking his third match out due to a calf injury.
