The match marked Herrera's second appearance (two starts) since returning from a five match absence due to a hamstring injury and the first of those appearances in which he's played greater than 45 minutes.

Herrera is in great form, covering much of the pitch and taking most set pieces, with his yellow cards in the last two games being the only point of concern.

Impact Herrera was held off the scoresheet, was the main creator for the Dynamo, leading the team in crosses and chances created. The midfielder hasn't had a goal involvement since the opening match of June, but is a consistent source of crosses and chances created due to a role on set pieces.

Impact Compared to 2023, assists are coming less easily for Herrera across 2024, with effort unlikely the problem. Set to return Saturday Herrera (knee) will return Saturday against Austin FC, Houston's general manager Pat Onstad told Nate Griffin of FOX 26 Houston.

Impact Herrera has yet to play this season, but the return of the central midfielder will give Houston a huge boost in the playmaking department. While it remains to be seen if he'd jump straight into the starting lineup, having him available is positive news for a Houston team that has won four of its last five contests.

Getting closer to return Herrera (knee) doesn't have a clear timetable for his return, but head coach Ben Olsen said the midfielder is "close", Bayou Soccer City reports.

Impact Herrera has been tabbed to return for the April 20 matchup against Austin FC, and Olsen said that return date "would be nice," though he didn't offer more details regarding the recovery process of the veteran midfielder. Herrera has yet to debut this season, and his return to the side would provide a massive boost to the squad. He's definitively out to face Chicago on Saturday, though.

He had been playing the defensive midfield position in the 4-2-3-1, however with Houston starting the year with a 3-5-1-1, Herrera will likely play a more offensive role in the midfield, with Brooklyn Raines taking his spot in the lineup during his absence.

Along with this, the midfielder recorded five goals on 77 shots (27 on target), 76 chances create and 68 tackles (47 accurate).
