Impact Villar has struggled as of late, having conceded seven goals and only logged that amount of saves across his last two appearances. He will try to redeem himself after the international break, after which Celta Vigo's team will host Valladolid on Sept. 15.

Impact Villar made a season-high six saves, a mark he surpassed only once last season, but it was not enough as his squad could not make up for the four goals against. Impact Villar could've done more in the sequence that led to Diego Lopez's goal, as he was very slow to react to a weak header from close range. However, he was solid the rest of the way, and while he's yet to keep a clean sheet through the first rounds of the league campaign, he's expected to remain in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, relegating Vicente Guaita to the bench for the time being.

Impact Villar made a single save but conceded the opener to Kike in the 17th minute. He is expected to retain the starting goalkeeper spot for at least a few more matches until Vicente Guaita returns from injury. Villar's next challenge will be against Valencia.

Impact Villar has been relegated to a backup role over the last few months, and while he's not expected to recover the starting position any time soon, Celta rates him enough to extend his current deal for the foreseeable future. Villar is suspended to play against Mallorca on Saturday but will be eligible to face Real Sociedad on Jan. 20.
