Role diminished over 2023/24 season Grealish made 20 appearances (10 starts), registering three goals on 22 shots and one assist on 26 chances created. Impact Grealish took a major step down in minutes from last season, nearly having his playtime cut in half after dropping into a rotational role this campaign. Granted, his season was loaded with injuries, having missed 10 games due to multiple injury situations. This likely was a massive reason for his diminished role, along with the addition of youngster Jeremy Doku, as Grealish was not all that awful when on the field, still carrying that robust playing style that can always lead to a goal contribution. Luckily for the player, manager Pep Guardiola gave confidence at the end of the season that Grealish would not be on his way out, and the team still views him as a valuable piece, possibly getting back regular playing time next campaign.
