Back on bench Sands is back from international duty and on the bench for Saturday's clash with Philadelphia.
Linking up with national team Sands has been called up by the USMNT to compete in the Gold Cup from June 24-July 16 and is set to miss at least the next three league games for NYCFC.
Impact Sands has played almost every minute of New York City's MLS campaign, starting all 17 games either in defensive midfield or at center-back. But he will be unavailable for the club for at least three matches while competing at the Gold Cup, so the likes of Keaton Parks and Alfredo Morales, along with Maxime Chanot (not injury related), Tayvon Gray and Tony Alfaro will have to step up in the XI in his absence.
