Signs with Betis out of retirement Joaquin came out of retirement and signed a one-year contract with Betis, the club announced Thursday.

Impact Joaquin is not quite yet done with his professional career, as he has now signed a contract to join Betis for one season after retiring at the end of the 2022/23 campaign. The midfielder has been with the club since 2015, registering 23 goals and 28 assists across 244 appearances. He finished last season making 29 appearances (nine starts) in all competitions, notching one goal and two assists, so the player should not be expected to get regular minutes. At the age of 42, expect Joaquin to play here and there, not gaining many goal contributions, as most of his playtime will come off the bench late into matches, serving as a super substitute when needed.
