Impact It's yet another blow for France and this one unfortunately comes only a few days before their first match. Benzema had been dealing with a muscular issue for the past month and it seems like he was pushing it too hard to be ready for the first World Cup match. Olivier Giroud is most likely to enter the starting XI in his place, though France have other options to take his place if Didier Deschamps wants to either change formations or use Kylian Mbappe as the central striker.
