Rui Silva - Can't keep clean sheetSilva had one save and allowed one goal in Thursday's 1-1 draw versus Girona.
ImpactSilva didn't have a lot of work throughout the match, and to be fair, it would be a stretch to blame him for the goal he conceded in the second half. Silva should see the bulk of time between the posts if he stays healthy, and he'll probably remain in the XI when Betis take on Alaves on Aug. 25.

Aitor Ruibal - Takes three shots in new roleRuibal registered three shots (one on goal) and two chances created in Thursday's 1-1 draw against Girona. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 86th minute.
ImpactThe lack of depth upfront forced manager Manuel Pellegrini to improvise in the attack, leading to Ruibal playing as a striker despite being a winger through most of his career. Ruibal was threatening at times, but he didn't look comfortable in a central role. It's unclear if he'll keep his place in the XI when Betis take on Alaves on Aug. 25.

Bryan Gil - Active display in Girona debutGil recorded four shots (one on goal), five crosses (one accurate) and two chances created in Thursday's 1-1 draw against Betis.
ImpactGil didn't find the back of the net in this one, but there's no question he generated all sorts of problems for the opposing defensive line with his pace and dribbling skill. The Tottenham winger, who will spend the season on loan at Girona, has enough talent to be a regular starter for Girona while filling the boots of Savinho, who departed the club to join Manchester City in the summer.

Nabil Fekir - Sets up goal in first halfFekir assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal), seven crosses (four accurate) and four corners in Thursday's 1-1 draw against Girona.
ImpactFekir played as a central attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 approach and pulled the strings in midfield, so it wasn't surprising to see him set up the team's lone goal with a perfect cross that was nodded home by Marc Bartra. There's a strong chance Fekir will move to a wider role once Isco (leg) is ready to return, but as long as Fekir is healthy, he should a regular in the XI while providing value in the final third with his creativity.
AUGUST 16ROTOWIRE
Marc Bartra - Heads home goalBartra scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Thursday's 1-1 draw against Girona.
ImpactBartra missed most of the 2023/24 season with injuries, but he's determined to secure a regular starting role in a defensive line that saw plenty of changes during the transfer window. Bartra made his presence felt on both ends of the pitch, as he scored Betis' lone goal with a perfect header following a cross from Nabil Fekir. As long as Bartra remains healthy, there's a decent chance he'll remain in the starting lineup, especially with how good he looked in this contest.
AUGUST 16ROTOWIRE
Paulo Gazzaniga - Concedes early goal ThursdayGazzaniga made three saves and allowed one goal in Thursday's 1-1 draw versus Betis.
ImpactThere wasn't much Gazzaniga could've done in the sequence that led to Marc Bartra's goal just five minutes into the match. The defender nodded a cross from Nabil Fekir home from very close range and with acres of space, so Gazzaniga didn't have a lot of time to react. He was solid the rest of the way, though, and he ended up playing a solid outing that managed to limit Betis to just one goal.
AUGUST 16ROTOWIRE
Pau Lopez - Transfers to GironaLopez has agreed on a transfer to Girona from Marseille for the 2024/25 season.
ImpactLopez will make a return to La Liga after spending the last three seasons with Marseille. He made 94 starts in 95 appearances in Ligue 1, totaling 239 saves with 27 clean sheets. The keeper will compete to Paulo Gazzaniga on a starting role, having been a regular starter since 2017.
