RCD Espanyol 3 vs 2 Deportivo Alavés | Game Highlights ⚽
2 months ago
Facundo Tenaglia - Bags rare goal SaturdayTenaglia scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal), six crosses (one accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 3-2 defeat against Espanyol.
ImpactTenaglia took advantage of a perfect cross from Joan Jordan to score with a header from close range, but his strike was not enough to complete a second-half comeback. Tenaglia can be a menace on set-piece situations, but he should earn most of his stats through defensive duties. On that note, he should be busy in the coming weeks since Alaves' next two matches are against Sevilla and Real Madrid.

Joan Jordan - Credited with assistJordan assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 3-2 loss against Espanyol.
ImpactJordan was credited with an assist when his cross allowed Nahuel Tenaglia to score with a powerful header midway through the second half. The talented playmaker has yet to latch onto a starting role with Alaves, but given he made a substantial impact in his debut with the club, it wouldn't be shocking if he sees more minutes in his coming matches.
SEPTEMBER 14ROTOWIRE
Joan Garcia - Concedes twice in win SaturdayGarcia registered four saves and allowed two goals in Saturday's 3-2 win over Deportivo Alaves.
ImpactIt's hard to blame Garcia for any of the two goals he conceded, as both were headers from close range, though he could've done a bit more in the sequence that led to Tomas Conechny's strike. Garcia has conceded at least one goal in four of his five starts this season, so he shouldn't have a lot of upside for his next match at Real Madrid on Sep. 21.

Antonio Sivera - Gives up three goals SaturdaySivera had one save and allowed three goals in Saturday's 3-2 defeat against Espanyol. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 61st minute.
ImpactSivera can't be blamed for any of the three goals he conceded in this match -- one was a penalty, in another one he was entirely out of the play, and he didn't have enough time to react in the remaining one. Sivera won't have an easier path toward bouncing back, as his next two matches are scheduled at home against Sevilla and against Real Madrid on the road on Sep. 20 and Sep. 24, respectively.
SEPTEMBER 14ROTOWIRE
Javi Puado - Nets hat-trick in win SaturdayPuado scored three goals to go with three shots (three on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Deportivo Alaves.
ImpactPuado was the undisputed star of the match after bagging all three goals for Espanyol. He tapped a low cross from close range to open the scoring in the 21st minute, and then, he doubled his tally with a header in the 56th minute -- both goals came following assists from Alvaro Tejero. Puado would complete the hat-trick with a penalty in the 63rd minute. He couldn't score in any of his previous appearances in the current league campaign, but he finally responded to this status of being the team's main reference upfront.
SEPTEMBER 14ROTOWIRE
Alvaro Tejero - Credited with two assists SaturdayTejero assisted twice to go with one shot (one on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and four chances created in Saturday's 3-2 victory against Deportivo Alaves.
ImpactTejero set up two of Javi Puado's goals and played a key role in the win with his attacking involvement. In the first half, he delivered a low cross that Puado tapped home to open Espanyol's scoring, and then he assisted on the second goal with a perfect cross that the same forward nodded home. Tejero has two assists in three starts, and he should remain in the starting lineup going forward.
