Daniel Amartey - Starting on Boxing Day Amartey (undisclosed) is in the starting XI for Sunday's match against Manchester City.

Impact Amartey didn't even make the bench midweek and hasn't played since November, but he's back Sunday and starting against Man City. It's a huge spot for him and it doesn't help Leicester that Wilfred Ndidi isn't in the XI, as he's getting a break during the festive period.

Timothy Castagne - Late test Boxing Day Castagne is considered a late test for Boxing Day because of an undisclosed issue, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.

Impact Castagne missed the midweek Cup match but Rodgers seemed to think he could be ready Sunday after returning to training Thursday. If Castagne can't go, it'll likely push Marc Albrighton into the starting XI again. Castagne had gone a full 90 in each of the last 11 league and UEL matches, so his absence would be another issue for the side.

Jonny Evans - Late test for Man City Evans (hamstring) is considered a late-fitness test for Sunday's match against Manchester City, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.

Impact Evans usually plays through injuries, so there's a decent chance he's in the XI Boxing Day. The problem is that he plays through injuries and often re-injures himself mid-game because he returned too soon. While it wasn't a bad hamstring injury, it's a wonder if Leicester hold him one match to start him home against Liverpool a couple days later.

Harvey Barnes - Out for Boxing Day Barnes will miss Sunday's match against Manchester City with an undisclosed issue, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.

Impact Barnes was out of the midweek matches, as well, and there's a chance his absence is COVID-19 related given the lack of information. Patson Daka started next to Jamie Vardy midweek and that could be the look again unless Ayoze Perez or Ademola Lookman are fit enough to make the XI.

Impact This isn't a positive update on Vardy and it appears he probably won't be starting two matches in three days starting with Boxing Day. Even then, he's started one of the last three league matches, meaning more time for Patson Daka and Kelechi Iheanacho is likely.

Impact Lookman is back from COVID-19 but wasn't asked to play Wednesday, possibly because of a lack of fitness. Prior to catching the virus, he had racked up six-straight starts, which means there's a good chance he'll be back in the XI as soon as Boxing Day against Manchester City.

Impact Perez was back in the squad Wednesday after missing Leicester's last two matches because of COVID-19. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't even used, which isn't a good sign for future playing time. His best chance of getting a start will come in this upcoming stretch of three matches in seven days.

Impact Vestergaard is healthy again and was forced onto the pitch because of another injury to Caglar Soyuncu on Wednesday. While Vestergaard hasn't started since Oct. 3 in league play, there's a chance that changes in upcoming matches, as Leicester don't have a ton of options at center-back.

Impact Unfortunately, this hamstring issue is related to the prior one for Soyuncu and it's what was bugging him last week. With only a few days until the Boxing Day fixture, Soyuncu is at jeopardy of missing at least one match, depending on the severity, meaning a return to the XI for Jannik Vestergaard is possible.

Ricardo Pereira - Exits injured Wednesday Pereira was forced off in the 42nd minute of Wednesday's Cup match with an undisclosed injury.

Impact Pereira was recently back from a hamstring injury and this was his first appearance since Nov. 7, so an early exit isn't good. Even if it's not hamstring related, Pereira has had a variety of injuries the last couple seasons and this puts his status into doubt going into the holiday schedule.
