French club Marseille signs Italian defender Luiz Felipe as free agent

French league club Marseille has signed Italy international Luiz Felipe as a free agent after the defender terminated his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad

Transfer to Saudi Felipe will be transferring to Al-Ittihad from Betis, announced by the clubs on Thursday.

Impact Felipe will be joining the likes of Karim Benzema and N'golo Kante after being dealt to the Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad from Betis on Thursday. The Brazilian accumulated 32 appearances over the past two seasons for Betis, registering 44 tackles, 41 interceptions and 136 clearances during his time with the club. This transfer will leave Betis with a hole in the defense, as the defender has started all four games this season. Expect the likes of Juan Miranda, Jose Calderon or Marc Bartra to start in the middle of the defense with Felipe leaving.
