Nets heroic goal Niang scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Sunday's 2-1 victory against Roma. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 90th minute.

Impact Niang was the true hero of Sunday's match, as his late 93rd-minute goal would earn Empoli another season in the Serie A on the final kick of the campaign for the club. However, this came after he was only on the field for 45 minutes, appearing as a substitute at halftime. He played in much more of a rotational role since joining the club in January, only starting in five of his 14 appearances despite notching six goals on 24 shots and one assist on nine chances created in his 706 minutes of play. He will now hope his effectiveness this season earns him more of a prominent role heading into the 2024/25 campaign.

Impact Niang entered the match in the 30th minute and converted a penalty the 90th for the opening goal of the match. The goal was the first in over a month for the attacker who has been a sporadic starter of late.

Impact Niang had a pretty quiet outing and could not do much stat-wise, failing to take a single shot for the third time in his last four appearances. He led Empoli with six aerials won, at least, but couldn't help them earn the home win. The forward has four goals since transferring from Turkey in February.

Impact Niang returned to the Xi since Alberto Cerri (thigh) got hurt but wasn't very productive. He's up to four goals since joining in January and has been more effective as a sub.

Impact Niang comes away with nothing to show for Monday's clash but individually he was excellent. For large parts of the match he was the sole creative spark and he came close to scoring himself as well. With better finishing around him it's possible he could have had multiple goal contributions Monday. Still there will be easier opponents ahead of Niang moving forward.

Impact Niang made it three out of three from the spot since coming back to Italy. He has been highly effiencet while routinely relieving Alberto Cerri in the second halves of recent fixtures. He has added an assist, six shots (four on target) and one chance in three appearances.

Impact Niang put his name on the stat sheet for the second consecutive game with Empoli, bagging another penalty kick in impeccable fashion. He came off at halftime in this one, and it might not be long before he starts over either Alberto Cerri or Nicolo Cambiaghi given his performances. Impact Niang returns to Italy after several years in France with Rennes, Bordeaux, and Auxerre and a season and a half in Turkey. He'll be an extra option up front alongside Francesco Caputo, Alberto Cerri, Nicolo Cambiaghi, and Matteo Cancellieri.
