First Leverkusen assist Bakker had an assist with his lone chance created while taking an off target shot and crossing twice (one accurate) during Saturday's 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Impact Bakker set up Moussa Diaby in the 55th minute, assisting Leverkusen's third goal. The assist was the first of the defender's Leverkusen career, coming from his lone chance created in the win.

Impact Bakker recorded two assists in 26 league appearances last season and also earned 10 games in the UCL for the French giants. While it wasn't necessarily the best statistical season of his career, Bakker did well to prove he could handle the spotlight and now just needs more consistent starts to take the next step. If he's able to earn the job over Wendell, who's seen his minutes decrease over the last few seasons, then Bakker will get a good chance to prove what he can do for Die Werkself.
