USMNT coaching rumors tracker: Latest buzz on who USA will hire
Kei Kamara - Logs 73-minute appearanceKamara logged two shots (zero on goal) across 73 minutes during the Los Angeles Football Club's 1-1 draw Wednesday against Real Salt Lake. He also received a yellow card.
ImpactKamara was a reserve for the first time since June 20. But because Timothy Tillman suffered an undisclosed injury, the African forward played a starter's worth of minutes Wednesday. They will be at least somewhat more difficult to come by beginning from August, when the Los Angeles Football Club has Olivier Giroud available.
JULY 18ROTOWIRE
Maikel Chang - Game started with five crossesChang attempted five crosses (zero accurate) and four corners during Real Salt Lake's 1-1 draw Wednesday against the Los Angeles Football Club. He also received a yellow card.
ImpactChang was promoted to Real Salt Lake's starting XI on Wednesday, his first game started since May 30. He logged his season high in crosses by getting five of them across 73 minutes before being substituted out. Unless the team needs reinforcements elsewhere, Chang is not expected to remain part of its starting XI at Colorado on Saturday because Andres Gomez has officially served his one-game suspension.
JULY 18ROTOWIRE
Cristian Olivera - Goal before injuryOlivera scored one goal with his lone shot before exiting the Los Angeles Football Club's 1-1 draw Wednesday against Real Salt Lake with an undisclosed injury.
ImpactOlivera's goal helped the Los Angeles Football Club log at least one point, which was needed after their 5-1 loss to Columbus on Sunday. However, an undisclosed injury prematurely ended his first instance of MLS action since the Copa America. Ideally, Olivera's availability becomes clear before LAFC play at Seattle on Saturday. Without him, they would have to rely on Kei Kamara or someone else as part of their front three.
JULY 18ROTOWIRE
Brayan Vera - Logs five shots, scores goalVera scored one goal with his five shots (one on goal) during Real Salt Lake's 1-1 draw Wednesday against the Los Angeles Football Club.
ImpactBefore playing against the Los Angeles Football Club on Wednesday, Vera's season high in shots was two, which he more than doubled then. Among his five shots Wednesday was a free-kick attempt that caught enough LAFC players off to go into the net. So after nearly five months of MLS games, Vera finally has a league goal across 2024.
JULY 18ROTOWIRE
Mateusz Bogusz - No goal or assist does not stop activityBogusz logged three shots (two on goal), five crosses (one accurate) and five corners during the Los Angeles Football Club's 1-1 draw Wednesday against Real Salt Lake.
ImpactFor the first time since the spring, Bogusz was unable to log a goal or an assist across consecutive games. However, he has shown a valiant effort across July. Bogusz already has nine shots (five on goal), 18 crosses (six accurate) and 14 crosses this month.
JULY 18ROTOWIRE
Diego Luna - Attempts six shotsLuna logged six shots (zero on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and one corner during Real Salt Lake's 1-1 draw Wednesday against the Los Angeles Football Club.
ImpactConsidering that Luna is a relatively active goalscorer whose season high in shots was previously three, him attempting six Wednesday should be considered significant. However, the attacking midfielder was inaccurate with all of them, going completely off-base compared to how he began his July by logging one goal and three assists.
