ImpactAfter logging an assist during the Fire's previous game, Mueller was added to their starting XI on Sunday. While unable to record another assist, it was something he tried to get with a relatively noticeable effort. Mueller's five crosses marked his best since April 21. But since May, he has failed to get any of his crosses accurate on eight attempts.

ImpactThis summer has been relatively quiet for Acosta, but it is not progressing without a valiant effort from the midfielder. Since June, he has created five chances along among his 13 crosses (four accurate) and 11 corners across six appearances for the Fire.

ImpactAfter scoring in four consecutive games, Haile-Selassie's goal streak came to a screeching halt Sunday, during which he logged zero shots on target for the first time since May. Since June, the forward has been quite accurate with his shots, logging 10 on goal with 19.

ImpactWhile not fantastic, Brady's latest appearance was far better than his previous one, which saw him fail to log multiple saves despite three goals getting past him. He will look for his form to climb much more up when the Fire host New York City FC on Saturday.

ImpactLopez was added back to the Earthquakes' starting XI on Sunday, and he logged their lone goal off a box-to-box long ball from Cristian Espinoza. Both players have been the 2024 Earthquakes' best players. Lopez's input may arguably be more impressive though, considering he was a relatively late addition to the Earthquakes from Godoy Cruz.

Cristian Espinoza - Records assistEspinoza logged one assist with his 11 crosses (three accurate), seven corners and four chances created during the Earthquakes' win Sunday against Chicago.

ImpactOne of four chances created by Espinoza included a box-to-box pass to Hernan Lopez, who scored the Earthquakes' lone goal. The longtime midfielder was a necessary piece to each of their four wins across 2024 until now, contributing three goals and two assists overall. Espinoza has easily been the 2024 Earthquakes' best player and showed as much with 10 assists, something he had not done since his 2019 season.

Andrew Gutman - Gets in work on the sideGutman (hamstring) trained on the side this past week, according to Joe Chatz of On Tap Sports.

ImpactGutman is nearing a return but will still need more time, as despite his return to training, he was only included on the side working individually once again. That said, the defender is still likely to miss at least another two weeks, set for a return around late July.
