Impact Djitte's 2022 got off to a very rocky start and it really seemed like he was on the outs when he was sent off for a huge lapse of judgement against Nashville in early September. But he scored a hat trick off the bench in his first game back from the ensuing suspension and then started in four of Austin's last six games of the season including playoffs. The 23-year-old will hope to continue this resurgence in 2023 as he will battle Maximiliano Urruti for the starting striker spot.

Impact Djitte opened the scoring from a corner kick on Sunday, his first goal since scoring a hat trick against RSL in mid-September. This was his third start in roughly the last month, but prior to that his only previous start this season came all the way back in March. Until he can start scoring more or producing more peripherals, he is nothing more than a boom or bust option.
