Impact Phillips spent the back half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Cardiff City, where he played a large role. The center-back now returns to Liverpool, likely with eyes on a depth role, or a move away from the club. Realistically it's hard for Phillips to break into the first team barring a plethora of injuries ahead of him.

Impact Phillips started 17 times in 2022 as he helped the Cherries to promotion but promptly returned to his parent club for preseason. Whether he sticks around or moves on loan again is yet to be seen, but his development would likely benefit most from finding a new club to play for this season.
