Jonjo Shelvey - Three assists in 30 appearances Shelvey recorded one goal and three assists in 30 appearances (29 starts) during the 2020/21 season.

Impact Shelvey's crossing total of 94 was his most from the past six seasons, but his goal contributions were much closer to his recent averages. What does make Shelvey useful in the right situation is his defensive work, as his 1.34 tackles and 1.24 interceptions per 90 minutes give him a mid-tier scoring floor in most matches. If the other attackers as well as Shelvey can manage to stay fit and in form for more than a couple of games at a time, Shelvey could make a serious splash as a two-way player if Miguel Almiron doesn't become the only playmaker for the Magpies.

Jamal Lewis - Ends season on bench Lewis stayed on the bench the final three months of the season, last starting in February.

Impact Lewis started 20 matches this season, almost what had did at Norwich the prior campaign, but he unfortunately lost that role late and worse is that Newcastle played better without him. He's still expected to play a part for Newcastle in the future, but his lack of attacking stats is still a problem, compiling three shots and 44 crosses at left-back in 24 appearances.

Impact Almiron bagged a brace early February and then didn't make the score-sheet again. While he's been a regular in the side, he's managed just eight goals and three assists the past two seasons from 70 appearances (63 starts). Even in an attacking role, his numbers have mostly struggled.

Unless there are some drastic changes, he should remain an important piece to the Magpies when they return next season.

Impact Dubravka rebounded with a clean sheet after conceding four goals in the game prior. The keeper had missed the majority of the season, however, he has been a force in the net. In the twelve games since his return he is averaging 3.75 saves and only 1.58 goals against per 90 minutes in all competitions. That is a pretty good ratio of saves to goals against and it makes him one of the more valuable keepers in the league. The hope is that a hamstring issue doesn't keep him out for Sunday's finale.
