Scores against Tigres Lodeiro scored a goal during Tuesday's 3-0 win over Tigres UANL in the Leagues Cup.

Impact Lodeiro has been sidelined for pretty much every match of the season, so it was a big deal to see him sub on and score during the quarter-final. When fit, he's one of Seattle's best players and should continue to build momentum towards a starting role. It may be tough for him to start in Sunday's match against Portland, but he should return to the match day squad at the very least.

Nearing return to pitch Lodeiro (knee) is days away from a return to the team and could be ready as soon as the Aug. 10 match against Tigres, head coach Brian Schmetzer revealed on 950 KJR.

Impact This news almost comes out of nowhere for Lodeiro, who has made one appearance this season, which came May 3. If all goes well in his return, he'll appear off the bench in the Leagues Cup match and then possibly be an option to start Aug. 15, though that timeline may be a tad bold.

Expected back before end of season Lodeiro (knee) is expected to return to the side before the end of the season, according to manager Brian Schmetzer.

Impact Lodeiro has played just one match this season and things continue to go on with a lack of updates. He underwent a minor knee surgery in May and it's unknown when he'll be ready to play again. The hope is that once he gets back to training, there will be reports and updates about that. For now, it doesn't seem like he'll be ready for at least another month.
