Ends season injured
Kitchen (foot) did not make a single appearance in 2022 for Columbus.
Impact
Kitchen did not feature at all for the Crew this season due to a foot injury, even though he was taken off the injury report very early on. The 30-year-old is out of contract in January and seems unlikely to be retained by the club moving forward.

Training with team
Kitchen was back in training with Columbus on Tuesday, Jacob Myers of the Columbus Dispatch reports.
Impact
Kitchen hasn't featured at all this season even though he has hardly featured in the Crew's injury report. Myers reports that this was the first time in a long time that he was training with the team, but his status is still relatively unknown moving forward.

Removed from injury report
Kitchen (foot) is absent from the injury report and should be available against San Jose on Saturday.
Impact
Kitchen is absent from the injury report and should be available for Saturday's match against San Jose, at least in some respect. While it's not likely for Kitchen to be a major part of the first team, he should be a depth option in some way Saturday.

Still out of training
Kitchen is not in training due to a foot injury, according to Jacob Myers of the Columbus Dispatch via manager Caleb Porter.

Undergoes back surgery
Kitchen underwent back surgery and will be out eight-to-12 weeks, according to the Columbus Dispatch.
Impact
Kitchen can't seem to catch a break, as he was already dealing with an MCL injury. He's appeared in just five matches this season because of injury and it doesn't look like he'll return to the pitch again unless he can recover quicker than expected from back surgery.

Back in squad Sunday
Kitchen (thigh) is on the bench for Sunday's match against Austin.
Impact
Kitchen is back in the squad Sunday, his first since the opener because of a thigh injury. He's a nice boost to the side even if not starting against Austin, as his presence will provide depth going forward, something Columbus could use once players go away on international duty.

Questionable for Fire match
Kitchen (thigh) is questionable for Saturday's match against Columbus, according to Jacob Myers of the Columbus Dispatch.
Impact
There was some hope that Kitchen would return against Toronto before the international break, but he was ultimately held out. His return would be a huge boost for the Crew, as Artur has already been ruled out because of his nagging hip injury. If Kitchen cannot play this weekend, his next opportunity will come Wednesday against Philadelphia.

May return against TFC
Kitchen (thigh) could return as soon as Saturday's match against Toronto FC, manager Caleb Porter told reporters.
Impact
Kitchen has only played in one game so far this season and should be back by the June 19 match against Chicago at the latest. With Artur not the most fit, Kitchen should have a few chances to serve as a starter even if he's not key to his club's best lineup.
