Impact Rubin took a step backwards this season as Sergio Cordova and Jefferson Savarino mostly took over as RSL's starting forwards, despite Rubin putting up eight goals and five assists in 2021. The 26-year-old will try to win back his spot in the XI during the next campaign, but he will be suspended for the first match after receiving a red card in the Round One playoff defeat against Austin a few weeks ago.

Sergio Cordova - Contract negotiations ongoing Cordova's loan deal from FC Augsburg is set to expire in January, but Real Salt Lake is currently in transfer discussions with the player and club.

Impact Cordova was RSL's highest scorer this season with 11 goals and one assist in 34 MLS appearances (28 starts) while on-loan from Augsburg. He is set to return to Germany in January but Salt Lake is attempting to make a permanent move for the 25-year-old ahead of the 2023 campaign.

Damir Kreilach - Ends season injured Kreilach (back) was not involved in the penalty shootout defeat against Austin FC in Round One of the playoffs.

Impact Kreilach made five MLS appearances (three starts) this season before picking up a back injury in April and he hasn't featured since. The 33-year-old underwent surgery in June and will hope to enter the next campaign fit and available to contribute after being the team's star player in 2021 (16 goals, eight assists).

Danny Musovski - Used sparingly by RSL Musovski was an unused substitute in the penalty shootout defeat against Austin FC in Round One of the playoffs.

Impact Musovski only made three appearances off the bench after moving from LAFC to Real Salt Lake in the summer, mostly due to a hamstring injury he picked up a few weeks before the trade. The 26-year-old will benefit from having a full preseason with his new team and will try to break into the starting XI somewhere along the attacking line in 2023.

Maikel Chang - Has quiet game in playoff loss Chang made two clearances and won one of four tackles in the penalty shootout defeat against Austin FC in Round One of the playoffs.

Impact Chang tallied two goals and four assists across 34 MLS appearances (25 starts) this season, mostly as RSL's first choice on the right wing. The 31-year-old may face increased competition in his position during the next campaign from the likes of Jefferson Savarino, Danny Musovski and Damir Kreilach (back).

Diego Luna - Not involved in playoff loss Luna was not in RSL's match day squad for the penalty shootout defeat against Austin FC in Round One of the playoffs.

Impact Luna made 13 appearances (three starts) in his rookie season in MLS after joining RSL from the USL in June. The 19-year-old will hope to continue earning opportunities to play in 2023, though he will likely still be a backup option for the most part.

Impact Meram tallied three goals and a team-high six assists across 33 MLS appearances (27 starts) this season, but he started in just two of RSL's final eight games thanks to a bit of a formation change and some summer arrivals at wing-back. The 33-year-old will want to prove he's worthy of regaining his spot in the XI on the left wing in 2023.

Impact Savarino had an excellent season in MLS, tallying seven goals and four assists in 20 appearances (18 starts) after returning to RSL from Atletico Mineiro in May. The 25-year-old can play anywhere along the attacking line, from either wing to the front-two as well as attacking midfield, and he should remain one of the first names in the XI in 2023.

Scott Caldwell - Comes off bench in playoff loss Caldwell subbed into the Round One playoff match against Austin FC in the 84th minute, and he made three clearances in the eventual penalty shootout defeat.

Impact Caldwell began his first season in Salt Lake as a starter in midfield, but he was overtaken in the XI by Jasper Loffelsend around May before ending the campaign with 27 appearances (15 starts) overall. The summer addition of Braian Ojeda adds another competitor into the midfield mix for 2023 as well as Damir Kreilach (back) once he returns from injury.

Impact Ojeda started in four of RSL's final five matches of the season since joining the club on-loan from Nottingham Forest in the summer, taking four shots and creating three chances from midfield in that span. The 22-year-old will hope to fully break into the XI ahead of -- or alongside -- Pablo Ruiz and Jasper Loffelsend in 2023 before his loan deal expires in June.

The 25-year-old will be competing with Pablo Ruiz, Braian Ojeda and Damir Kreilach (back) to retain his spot in the XI in 2023.

Impact Ruiz had his most prolific season in MLS in 2022, tallying two goals and four assists across 30 appearances (29 starts) from midfield. The 23-year-old remains one of the first names in XI for RSL whenever he's available heading into the next campaign.

Impact Oviedo started in five of RSL's last seven matches of the season after joining the club from FC Copenhagen in the summer, recording a brace of MLS assists against Portland in a crucial Decision Day clash. The 32-year-old will be challenging Andrew Brody for the starting spot at left-back/left wing-back in 2023.

Impact Herrera kept seven clean sheets in 27 MLS appearances (25 starts) this season despite missing a few games at the beginning and end of the campaign with calf injuries. His attacking production diminished -- two assists from 24 chances created in 2022 compared to 10 assists from 44 chances created in 2021 -- as the 25-year-old played more right-back in a 4-4-2 this season as opposed to right wing-back in a 3-5-2.

Impact Orozco made his senior debut for RSL this season and made a few appearances in the XI in April, but the 18-year-old is still mostly a reserve team player and is behind Marcelo Silva, Justen Glad and Erik Holt in the center-back depth chart.

The 26-year-old has work to do in 2023 in order to get some more consistent minutes behind Justen Glad and Marcelo Silva in central defense.

The 33-year-old would become a free agent if no new deal is agreed upon by Nov. 14, but it would be a surprise to see Salt Lake let one of their club captains leave this offseason.
