Johan Kappelhof - Joins Salt Lake Kappelhof has signed a one-year contract with Real Salt Lake with the option to extend for an additional year, the club announced Friday.

Impact Kappelhof made 158 appearances in all competitions during his six-year stint in Chicago, but the 31-year-old has moved to Salt Lake City as a free agent. He made 16 starts in MLS last season and should still have plenty left in the tank, but he will likely be a backup option to Marcelo Silva and Justen Glad at center back.

David Ochoa - Picks up injury before opener Ochoa landed awkwardly after going up for a clearance during a pre-season friendly against Portland and was immediately brought off the pitch.

Impact Ochoa landed awkwardly on his left ankle, and had to be immediately replaced by Zac MacMath. While it's still possible for Ochoa to be available for the season opener, it's seeming unlikely. MacMatch is a competent replacement who conceded only six goals in seven starts, with two clean sheets in the 2021 season.
