Impact Oyarzabal still may not return to club matches before the World Cup but this is still an excellent sign in his comeback from a serious injury and fitting in for a team that's looking lively even without their captain in the lineup. There were some suggestions in the past week that Oyarzabal could be in contention for a place with Spain for the World Cup but that's not worth putting much stock in until he's in far better shape.

Impact The return of Fernandez is big news given some of the issues in keeping the attacking unit healthy this season. While starting is probably a tall task, an injury for Mohamed-Ali Cho (thigh) leaves more room to play in the coming weeks. Since signing for La Real in the winter of 2021, Fernandez has struggled to stay fit and didn't play once in La Liga last season.

Igor Zubeldia - Picks up thigh injury Zubeldia has suffered a left thigh injury in training, his club announced Tuesday.

Impact Zubeldia figures to miss at least 10 days due to this injury, which appears to be minor at the moment. After starting six matches out of seven to open the season, he only played two minutes in the Sept. 18 win over Espanyol, there may not be much to worry about with Aritz Elustondo and Jon Pacheco starting at center-back. Additionally, the status of Robin Le Normand would add further changes to the team's defensive depth while Zubeldia is out. For now, expect Zubeldia to miss at least the Oct. 2 trip to Girona.

Impact Cho might have trouble getting fit in time for the Oct. 2 trip to Girona following this injury. He's logged two assists while playing in all eight of his side's matches so far (three starts) and his absence will leave La Real short of striking options once again. Should Cho miss any matches, Takefusa Kubo and Brais Mendez will take on further importance in the attack alongside Alexander Sorloth.

Impact Remiro was able to get back on track after losing in his last league contest against Getafe, which was more marked by the loss of Umar Sadiq than by the outcome of the match. If the attacking side of his team can increase their form after the international break, then Remiro should be a reliable pair of hands against most opponents.

Impact Mendez has done exceptionally well to shoulder the scoring burden without much support beyond Alexander Sorloth as he's collected four goals in six games between the league and UEL. As he's also racked up fair creative numbers with six chances created on 23 crosses in addition to making 11 tackles in the month of September, Mendez should certainly garner plenty of attention. The only thing to worry about is his fouling, as Mendez has conceded two yellow cards on 23 fouls in eight starts across all competitions.

Impact Merino adds his second assist of the campaign after racking up seven chances in his last two league matches. One of the better midfielders in the league that tends not to offer much in fantasy, that could be changing following a decent first two months on both ends of the pitch.

With Umar Sadiq still out long-term and Mikel Oyarzabal out for a few more months, Sorloth again has the opportunity to become a star for a talented team.
