Fails to keep his starting role Rubin will end the season making 15 starts in 24 appearances with Real Salt Lake.

Impact Rubin had lost his starting forward role since the addition of Cristian Arango, having made just three starts in the last 11 matches. He was struggling to score regardless, scoring just two goals this year. Rubin will likely be downgraded to a regular bench role for next campaign as it will also be his final year left in his contract.

The American was a starter before picking up the injury but since then has only started two of the four matches he played in. He could be back in a regualr starting role soon, but right now it seems that the team is still testing his fitness.

Impact Rubin didn't even make it 10 minutes before going down Tuesday with an injury early in the match when he stretched too far for the ball. His status is in doubt for the rest of the Gold Cup and he seems in danger of missing the next couple weeks for RSL ahead of the Leagues Cup.

Going straight to Gold Cup Rubin has made Guatemala's Gold Cup roster and is set to miss at least three MLS games for Real Salt Lake while competing at the tournament from June 24-July16.

Impact Rubin was already unavailable for Saturday's win over D.C. United, and he'll remain out for his club for the next few weeks while competing with Guatemala at this tournament. Anderson Julio, Danny Musovski, Andres Gomez and Damir Kreilach should take over the center forward positions while Rubin is away.
