Roberto Gagliardini - Undergoes thigh surgeryGagliardini had surgery to repair the rectus femoris tendon in his right thigh, Monza announced.
ImpactGagliardini has struggled to stay due to multiple physical problems to open the season and opted for the surgical route to address them. He'll be back at some point in 2025. Warren Bondo, Matteo Pessina, Alessandro Bianco and Stefano Sensi (undisclosed) will handle the two or three spots in the midfield going forward.

Mateo Retegui - Assists opener WednesdayRetegui assisted once to go with three shots (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Monza.
ImpactRetegui set up the opening goal of Wednesday's match as he set up Lazar Samardzic's strike in the 70th minute. It marked his third assist of the season -- all of which have come in the last four matches -- to go along with his 10 goals through 10 Serie A appearances this season. Retegui has been in great form this season but particularly as of late, as he has recorded nine goal contributions in the last four matches alone. He is also recording lots of shots and has created a lot of chances this season, so there's no sign that his production will stop any time soon.

Davide Zappacosta - Scores off bench WednesdayZappacosta scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Wednesday's 2-0 win against Monza.
ImpactZappacosta bagged his second goal of the season Wednesday, an outside-the-box strike in the 88th minute assisted by Lazar Samardzic. It was the first goal he has scored since Sept. 24 and it marked just his second appearance off the bench this season. He finished the match with no other statistics in his 33 minutes of action.

Lazar Samardzic - Goal and assist off benchSamardzic scored one goal and assisted once from four shots and two chances created in Wednesday's 2-0 victory against Monza.
ImpactSamardzic was subbed onto the pitch at halftime and made a massive impact in the second half. He scored the opening goal of the match in the 70th minute, then set up Davide Zappacosta's goal in the 88th minute to seal the victory. He took four shots for the second time this season and created multiple chances for the fifth time in eight appearances this season. Despite coming off the bench in nearly every match, Samardzic has still found a way to maintain production.

Marco Carnesecchi - Keeps clean sheet WednesdayCarnesecchi recorded three saves and secured a clean sheet in Wednesday's 2-0 win against Monza.
ImpactCarnesecchi kept his second Serie A clean sheet Wednesday, both of which have come in his last three starts. His defense should get a lot of credit as the unit held Monza to just four shot attempts, three of which forced Carnesecchi to make a save. He faces a much more difficult matchup Sunday on the road at Napoli, a side which is top of the league and has scored 18 goals through 10 league matches this season.
20 HOURS AGOROTOWIRE
Luca Caldirola - Productive in returnCaldirola generated one cross (zero accurate) and three tackles in Wednesday's 2-0 loss versus Atalanta. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 82nd minute.
ImpactCaldirola had not seen any action in Serie A since Sept. 1 prior to starting Wednesday's match. He looked solid in his return to the competition as he won two tackles, intercepted two passes, made six clearances and blocked three shots in his full 90 minutes of action. Now that he's fully fit, he should return to being a regular in the starting XI.
20 HOURS AGOROTOWIRE
Giorgos Kyriakopoulos - One shot versus AtalantaKyriakopoulos had one shot (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Wednesday's 2-0 defeat to Atalanta.
ImpactJust a few days after breaking out with two goal contributions versus Venezia, Kyriakopoulos came back down to earth with a quiet day. He added some production on the defensive end as he intercepted two passes, made four clearances and blocked one shot in his full 90 minutes of action.
