Impact Soucek had plenty to do behind the ball as Liverpool sent wave after wave of attack coming forward and he did well to fill the stat sheet defensively. The midfielder has been a nailed-on starter playing every minute in the Premier League through 11 matches and making 36 tackles. While Soucek doesn't have much goal upside, his defensive consistency gives him some floor to build off of as his role continues to get pushed deeper in midfield.

Soucek also made four tackles and five clearances to help fill the stat sheet during the loss. It's been a rough start to the campaign for West Ham, but they are still favored for a top half finish.

Impact Soucek was coming off an amazing campaign during his previous season, so expectations were very high on him. However, the midfielder was mostly deployed in a defensive-minded role, so another double-digit scoring output was very unlikely. His defensive stats remained solid but, despite his additional holding duties, it's a little bit disappointing that we didn't see a spike for some peripheral categories. According to Sky Sports, Soucek remains an integral part of plans for next season, but an impasse on negotiations for a pay rise could be a factor for him to leave the club.
