Sergio Romero - Will resume starting against Genoa Romero tested negative for COVID-19 after the trip to Argentina and trained fully Wednesday, Il Gazzettino reports.

Impact Romero will reclaim the starting job he had relinquished to Luca Lezzerini as the teammate suffered a serious thigh injury. He has allowed 25 goals, made 59 saves and kept three clean sheets in 13 appearances. Venezia will host Genoa SUnday.

Luca Lezzerini - Suffers major injury Lezzerini will undergo surgery in Finland for a complete rupture of the rectus femoris tendon in the right thigh, Venezia announced.

Impact Lezzerini picked up the injury in the last game even though he managed to finish it. He is considered unlikely to return to this season. Sergio Romero should head back to Italy before Sunday's game versus Genoa and resume starting. He sat out the most recent game as he flew to Argentina for the birth of his child. Niki Maenpaa will serve as the top backup from here on out.
