Facing month-long absence Fofana is expected to miss around four weeks after suffering a sprained knee against Milan in the Champions League, L'Equipe reported Thursday. Impact Fofana was subbed out of Wednesday's UCL victory over AC Milan in the first half after suffering a knee injury, but the sprain isn't as serious as it could have been and he's expected to be able to return around November and still compete for a spot in France's World Cup squad. Still, he is missing a busy period for his new side, which is scheduled to play seven games in just the Premier League and Champions League before the end of October. Chelsea have the depth in central defense to cover for him in the meantime, with Thiago Silva, Kalidou Koulibaly, Cesar Azpilicueta, Trevoh Chalobah and even Reece James and Marc Cucurella all able to play in the position.
