Cowboys acquire RB Christine Michael from Seahawks
By Eddy Almaguer
The running back situation in Dallas got a little bit more muddled Sunday morning.
The Cowboys traded a conditional pick to the Seattle Seahawks for running back Christine Michael, according to ESPN.
While it’s considered the first notable trade of the season, it’s not an unexpected one. Seattle signed Fred Jackson as a backup, leaving Michael as an expendable piece.
Michael, a former Texas A&M star, didn’t have much room to play in Seattle. You may know someone named Marshawn Lynch who wasn’t exactly surrendering any reps. Michael rushed for 254 yards in 14 games during two seasons with the Seahawks.
With DeMarco Murray now on the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys expect to employ a timeshare in the running back position. Michael will be added to the mix with Darren McFadden, Lance Dunbar and Joseph Randle.
