Can't defend takedown in loss Miller lost to Chase Hooper via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 314 on Saturday in Miami. Impact Miller was in tough here as a +550 underdog, largest on the entire card. Jim is largely suited for grinding, grappling matches at this stage of his career, and while that's what this was, he simply wasn't able to deal with the physicality of Hooper. Miller allowed eight takedowns and 10:08 worth of control time, all but assuring he had zero chance of winning a decision. Set to turn 42 years of age in late August, Miller has been and continues to be one of the most realistic fighters in terms of knowing when it's time to step aside. The New Jersey native is 2-2 in his past four fights, but it's difficult to believe his UFC run will last more than a handful of more bouts.
