Sebastian Aho scored two third period goals as the Carolina Hurricanes dominated the Pittsburgh Penguins en route to a 4-0 victory over the defending Stanley Cup Champions. After a scoreless first period, Jeff Skinner would score an unassisted goal to make it 1-0 Carolina. Teuvo Teravainen would add a goal another one for the Hurricanes to make it 2-0 going into the 2nd intermission. Aho finished with three points with two goals and an assist, while Teravainen registered two points with a goal and an assist, with Brett Pesce chipping in with two assists. Cam Ward made 21 saves for Carolina for his first shutout of the season, and 26th shutout of his career.
