The Phoenix Suns will play two regular-season "home" games in Mexico City this season. The team announced games there against the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 12 and the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 14. It's the first time the NBA will have two games played in Mexico in the same season. With the two contests, the NBA will have held 24 games in Mexico since the first was held in 1992 and more than any country besides Canada. Suns president Jason Rowley said at a news conference that the Suns "want to be the NBA team for Mexico." Phoenix mayor Greg Stanton thanked Suns owner Robert Sarver and the team for a franchise "that is building bridges to Mexico and not walls."
