Comes off bench in exhibition Mahaney came off the bench and put up 17 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three assists, two rebounds and a steal in Monday's exhibition game victory over Rhode Island.

Impact Mahaney was one of UConn's biggest adds in the offseason, but it would be Solomon Ball who got the start at shooting guard in the exhibition game. Ball had a game-high 18 points, but Mahaney was just one point off that and played three more minutes. Defense could be the one thing that keeps Mahaney out of the starting five, but rest assure he will be playing quite a bit either way because of his shooting ability. UConn opens the season on Nov. 6 against Sacred Heart.
