Impact While the report notes that Betrand is roughly a month ahead of schedule in recovering from March knee surgery, it seems as if preserving a year of eligibility is an option that's very much on the table. Betrand appeared in 18 games (nine starts) for URI last season after transferring from Towson, posting modest averages of 4.7 points and 1.5 rebounds. He was once thought to be a key rotation piece heading into 2021-22, but it seems those plans may be on hold.

Impact Betrand injured his left knee in the second half against Dayton and the sequence looked terrible -- and the worst fears were later confirmed. He tore his ACL, PCL and LCL in Friday's loss, meaning he's now in line to spend a long spell on the sidelines.

Impact Betrand missed the Rams' first seven games due to eligibility issues after he transferred to Rhode Island bac in May. The 6-5 junior was able to finally play Dec. 18 thanks to the D-1 council granting immediate eligibility to all transfers for this season. He's averaged 5.3 points and a rebound in 15.3 minutes per game since his first appearance and will now have a chance to establish himself as a starter.
