Impact Thamba didn't have much volume from the floor during Monday's regular-season opener, but he took plenty of free throws and was dominant on the boards. The fifth-year senior averaged 6.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in 20.4 minutes per game last year and should continue to serve as a starter for the Bears during the 2022-23 campaign.

Impact George took on a starting role to begin his freshman season at Baylor and scored in double figures during the blowout win despite shooting just 30.8 percent from the floor. George was the highest-ranked recruit in program history and should continue to play a significant role for Baylor now that the regular season is underway.

Impact Flagler withdrew from the 2022 NBA Draft during the offseason and played a significant role for Baylor during the 2022-23 regular-season opener. He was the only player for the Bears to top 20 points during the blowout win, and he came within two assists of a double-double. His playing time will increase in closer matchups, and he should be a top contributor for the Bears now that he's decided to return to the collegiate ranks.

Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua - Out indefinitely Tchamwa Tchatchoua (knee) won't play in Monday's season opener against Mississippi Valley State and is expected to miss most of the season, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports.
Impact Tchamwa Tchatchoua is still recovering from knee surgery and is expected to miss most, if not all of the 2022-23 season, according to head coach Scott Drew. As a result, Zach Loveday and Joshua Ojianwuna figure to be rotational pieces at center for the Bears behind starter Flo Thamba this season.

Jordan Turner - Won't play Monday Turner has been ruled out for Monday's regular-season opener against Mississippi Valley State due to a wrist injury, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reports.
Impact Although Turner will be unable to suit up for the first game of the regular season, coach Scott Drew said the junior should be back within the week. Turner should take on a depth role for the Bears once again this year after he averaged 2.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in 5.8 minutes per game over 13 appearances last year.
