Impact Akok had played in the last three games for the Huskies after missing the first six contests with an Achilles injury, but sat out Saturday against Creighton due to a new lower-body issue. While his impact hasn't yet been felt this season, Akok has a chance to be a major boost on the defensive end once the sophomore is finally able to see regular minutes.

Impact Akok missed the first six games of the season and logged a combined 11 minutes over UConn's last three contests, so he's not expected to play a big role even when he's healthy. His next chance to play will come Jan. 26 at home against Butler.

Impact Sanogo was easily the most efficient player for UConn in their loss Monday. The center set a season-high in points (12) and still managed a few grabs in the paint. He only saw 17 minutes, but produced excellently in that timeframe. He has been underwhelming thus far, excluding this performance. However, he did see a season-high in minutes (17) and may be given more time moving forward.

Undergoes elbow surgery Bouknight underwent surgery on his left elbow on Tuesday and is out indefinitely, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.
Impact Bouknight suffered what was originally reported as a hyperextended elbow earlier this month, but after surgery it appears that his injury was more severe than originally thought. This is a massive loss for the Huskies, as Bouknight was averaging 20.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, and 1.5 steals per game this season. We should get more information over the coming weeks as to when Bouknight may be able to resume basketball activities.
