Dariq Whitehead - Not partaking in Friday's scrimmage Whitehead (foot) will not be playing in Friday's team scrimmage, Steve Wiseman of The News & Observer reports.
Impact Whitehead underwent surgery in late August after fracturing his right foot in a team workout but was said to be ahead of his rehab schedule a few weeks ago. Head coach John Scheyer mentioned Whitehead is expected to be available "this fall," but gave no definitive timeline for a return. The team will have two exhibition games and a closed scrimmage in the coming weeks, leaving the freshman forward with three more chances to see live game action before opening up the season against Jacksonville on Nov. 7.

Dereck Lively - Not playing in scrimmage Lively will not be playing in the team's scrimmage Friday night after suffering a leg injury in practice last week, Steve Wiseman of The News & Observer reports.
Impact The team has not released any information yet about a potential timetable for Lively's return. The 7-1 big man was the No. 1 rated recruit in the class of 2022 and is expected to play a major role for the Blue Devils this season. Duke will have two exhibition games and a closed scrimmage before opening up the season against Jacksonville on Nov. 7, and it will be worth monitoring if Lively is able to play at all.
