Myles Rice - 20 points in exhibition game Rice went for 20 points (7-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 6-8 FT), four assists, two rebounds and two steals in Sunday's exhibition win over Tennessee.

Impact Rice certainly looked comfortable with his new team and picked right back up from what he showed in a dazzling freshman campaign with Washington State that saw him average 14.8 points, 3.8 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest. Rice played alongside Kanaan Carlyle in the backcourt in this one, but it could very well be veteran Trey Galloway once the regular season begins, as he was out of this one with a knee injury. Rice will be hoping to prove that he belongs in the discussion of top PG's in the Big Ten.

Jordan Rayford - DNP for exhibition game Rayford (undisclosed) did not play during Indiana's exhibition game Sunday at Tennessee.

Impact It has been over 10 months since Rayford was ruled out for Indiana's 2023-24 season for undisclosed reasons. He remains unavailable though, with his return date pushed back to another exhibition game, this time a Nov. 1 matchup scheduled against Marian.

Bryson Tucker - Out against Volunteers Tucker (undisclosed) is out for Sunday's exhibition game against Tennessee, per Kyler Staley of HoosierIllustrated.com.

Impact Tucker will be one of three notable Hoosiers missing against Tennessee, joining Trey Galloway and Jakai Newton on the bench. Tucker was previously listed as a game-time decision for Sunday's Charity Exhibition with an undisclosed injury but has clearly been determined to be unable to play against the Volunteers. The freshman forward will have one more opportunity to return in the team's exhibition against Marian this coming Friday before the first game of the regular season.

Jakai Newton - Out Sunday Newton (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's exhibition against Tennessee, per Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Impact Newton was previously thought to be a game-time decision for Sunday's Charity Exhibition with a knee injury, and though he was able to log limited minutes in the team's scrimmage earlier in the week, he will be unable to play against the Volunteers. The freshman guard was a former four-star recruit coming out of high school and will have one more chance to return in the team's exhibition against Marian this coming Friday before the regular season opener.

Trey Galloway - Out for exhibition game Galloway (knee) won't play in Sunday's exhibition game against Tenessee, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Galloway continues to recover from a knee injury he suffered at the end of last season. It remains unclear whether the guard will be ready to go for the start of the regular season on Nov. 6. Galloway averaged 10.6 points in 33.4 minutes last year.

Jakai Newton - Limited minutes during scrimmage Newton (knee) logged limited minutes during Indiana's team scrimmage Thursday, according to Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star.

Impact A knee injury has plagued Newton since Indiana's 2023-24 season, and that same problem continues to affect him going into the Hoosiers' upcoming campaign. The good news is that him recently playing limited minutes suggests he can play, just not at 100 percent. Indiana's head coach Mike Woodson pointed out that Newton has not "fully recovered" going into the team's exhibition game Sunday at Tennessee, where his injury status is expected to be updated.

Trey Galloway - Limited participant Thursday Galloway (knee) was a limited participant during a team scrimmage Thursday, Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Impact Galloway has yet to fully recover from a knee injury suffered at the end of the 2023-24 season. The 6-foot-5 senior started in 31 games with the Hoosiers last season, averaging 10.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.2 steals on 33.4 minutes per game. The Hoosiers are set to face off against Tennessee in an exhibition matchup this Saturday, but it is unclear if Galloway will be able to suit up in the contest. Indiana opens up their season against SIU-Edwardsville on Nov. 6.

Impact Carlyle has been impressing on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he did not excel during his 2023-24 season, with his averages of 0.6 blocks and 0.4 steals proving such. But by adding positives on the defensive side of the ball, Carlyle could prove to be an excellent option during Indiana's 2024-25 campaign. The sophomore is relatively proven on the offensive side of the ball, having averaged 11.5 points and 2.7 assists across his freshman season.
