Impact King scored in double figures for the third time in the last four games, as he moved up into the starting lineup ahead of Aljaz Kunc during this stretch. This still was not enough to keep the Cyclones from falling in the round of 64, thus ending the team's NCAA Tournament run early. The Eastern Kentucky averaged 6.1 points and 4.1 rebounds across 23 appearances in his first season in Ames, though he put up 9.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game across his four starts in March. King should now have one more year of eligibility if he opts to continue his collegiate career into the 2023-24 campaign.

The 6-foot-4 senior finished the 2022-23 campaign averaging 13.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists, though he shot a career-low 38.9 percent from the field. Holmes will now have the opportunity to return to Iowa State for his final year of collegiate eligibility next season.

Impact Lipsey did not perform up to his usual standard as a shooter, falling well below his 48.2 field-goal percentage for the season. The 6-foot-1 freshman did snatch at least 10 boards for the second time over the last three games, though this wasn't enough to keep the Cyclones from being run off the court in the second half. As as result, Iowa State's run in the NCAA Tournament came to an early end. Lipsey will finish his freshman campaign averaging 7.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.2 steals across 33 starts. This early experience should be valuable as Lipsey heads into the 2023-24 campaign.
