Cleared ahead of 2020-21 season Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery said Wednesday that Nunge (knee) has received full clearance for basketball-related activities, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Before sustained a season-ending right knee injury in late November that required surgery, Nunge started in Iowa's first five games in 2019-20, averaging 6.0 points, 4.6 boards and 1.8 assists in 17.6 minutes per contest. Though he could be a candidate to move to the bench this season if Iowa opts to deploy Joe Wieskamp at power forward alongside All-American center Luka Garza, Nunge should at least serve as the Hawkeyes' top big man on the second unit.
