Impact Withers started and played 17 minutes before fouling out. It wouldn't be surprising to see the sixth-year senior start early in the season for the Tar Heels at power forward, but there are plenty of young talented options for coach Hubert Davis to turn to later in the season if Withers is not producing. Withers was solid as a role player last season for UNC averaging 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest.

Impact Armando Bacot and RJ Davis led the Tar Heels to victory Thursday, but Withers's play was impressive as well. He delivered a double-double off the bench, and it was just the second time he accomplished that feat in the current campaign. Withers should continue playing off the bench when the Tar Heels take on Michigan State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
