Impact Withers' production has been steadily rising this season, as he began the season opener with eight points but has topped the 10-point mark in his last two appearances. More importantly, Withers seems healthy from the ankle injury that bugged him before the start of the season and should continue being a regular name in the Cardinals' starting five going forward. His next chance to play will come Tuesday against Western Kentucky.

Impact Withers was nursing a sprained ankle leading up to Wednesday's contest, but he'll claim a role in the starting five for the first game of the 2020-21 season. Withers took a redshirt season last year, but he drew praise from head coach Chris Mack during the offseason and appears poised to contribute for the Cardinals this year.

Drawing praise from coach Withers has a chance to start at power forward for Louisville in 2020-21, Brian Bennett of the Athletic reports.
Impact With last year's combination of Jordan Nwora, Steven Enoch and Dwayne Sutton taking up a combined 85 mpg, there wasn't really enough frontcourt minutes available for Withers to take on much of a role, so he ultimately took a redshirt season. The aforementioned trio has since departed from the program, while Withers has spent the offseason working on his body and his game. He apparently put on close to 25 pounds since arriving on campus, and coach Chris Mack has even called him "by far our best athlete on the team." A lot of the Louisville alignment will depend on how transfers Carlik Jones and Charles Mineland slot into the mix -- and whether they push Samuell Williamson to the four-spot -- but it seems as if the door is open for Withers to see a heavy workload alongside Malik Williams in the frontcourt.
